Hic Exodos, hic salta!

Ja, skočiti bo treba! Iz dnevnega ritma skočiti na predstavo, si vzeti čas še za pogovor po njej. Teme, avtorji in režiserji letošnjega Exodosa vsekakor veliko obetajo. Če je bil nekoč ta festival predvsem globalna informacija, da se je dalo primerjati stanje lokalnega gledališča, se zdi, da smo vsi skupaj že globoko zabredli v globalno - in da nam danes prav najbolj lokalni gostje ponujajo tiste velike trenutke presenečenja in vedno nove neverjetne spremenljivke, drzne poglede čez in skoke onstran. Bolj ko se preskušajo v odnosu do svojega medija in svojega sveta, bolj zadevajo cel svet.
Najlepši majski dnevi, namenjeni letošnjemu Exodosu, spremljajo Slovenijo v prvih skokih po novih evropskih koordinatah. Posvečamo se zelo konkretnim preizpraševanjem in primerjavam. Kulturne primerjave so nam lahko za zgled, da srečevanje novega ne pomeni strahu pred neznanim, pač pa soočenje z izzivi, ostrenje objektiva, tudi poglobitev perspektiv v sploščenem svetu posplošitev.
Da se na ta način preskuša slovenska ustvarjalnost v mednarodnem prostoru, je samoumevno, da pa se na ta način bogati tudi odprtost slovenskega duha, je fino vsakič znova povedati. Zato res iskrena želja, da bi bile predstave nepozabne, pogovori izčrpni, srečanja pa prijazna.

Hic Exodos, hic salta!

You just have to jump in! Indeed, we will have to spring up from our daily routine, go to the shows and find time to discuss them afterwards. The themes, authors and directors of this year's Exodos are extremely promising. If initially this festival offered an insight into the global situation, with which we compared the status of our local theatre, it seems that by now we have all sunk deeply into the global - and that the moments of surprise are nowadays reserved for the artists who are most distinctly marked by their local characteristics - these in particular are now able to offer us ever changing novelties and variables, daring gazes over the limits, and leaps beyond. The more these are focused on a particular medium or a small fraction of the world, the more they apply to the whole globe.
The most beautiful days of May that are dedicated to this year's Exodos will accompany Slovenia in its first jumps along the new European coordinates. We are focusing on very particular insights and comparisons. Cultural exchange can serve as an example which teaches us that meeting the new should not be imbued with the fear of the unknown, but should challenge us, sharpen and deepen our vision in a world flattened by generalizations.
It goes without saying that through all this Slovenian creativity is being challenged in an international arena, but it is great to say again and again that in such a way the Slovenian spirit can broaden its horizons. Therefore, we sincerely hope for unforgettable performances, electrifying talks and pleasant encounters.
